This is how the 6 foot 4 inch LBJ would sit in a car - a tall Texan.

But LBJ was sitting farther down, near to his wife in height,
with Texas Senator Ralph Yarborough waving. 

While on Houston Street, approaching Elm, LBJ is on a walkie talkie

LBJ was 6 foot 4 inches, yet already slouching down,
shorter than Lady Bird who was 5 foot 6 inches.

Lady Bird is visible in the car, but LBJ has already ducked out of view in the Altgens photo.

LBJ ducks just before the first shot at Kennedy - before anyone else does
LBJ may have ducked completely, or is crouching and outlined in red.
Either way, LBJ's face should have been as visible as Lady Bird's (blue) and taller.
Secret Service Agent Rufus Youngblood in green is in the right front seat, in front of LBJ.
Driver Joe Henry Rich (Texas Highway Patrol) is in brown, and Senator Yarborough in yellow.

Lady Bird Johnson, next to LBJ, is still sitting up and smiling.
We need to get a clearer copy of the Altgens photo for more analysis.
Was the Altgen photo altered, so that LBJ appears as a dark blur?
One thing for sure - we don't see LBJ. And we should. Why?

Ralph Cinque shows how the "man in the door" of the TSBD is LHO but was altered to look like Billy Lovelady, using his forehead of an older photo from the military files.  who he was the man in a white shirt shield his eyes from the Sun. 

The man in the door way (Altgens photo) looks exactly like Billy Lovelady (including the receding hairline, not LHO), who testified under oath that he was standing "Right there at the entrance of the building standing on the step."

Yarborough recalled that both Johnson and Youngblood ducked down as the shooting began and that Youngblood never left the front seat. Yarborough said Youngblood held a small walkie-talkie over the back of the car's seat and that he and Johnson both put their ears to the device. He added: 'They had it turned down real low. I couldn't hear what they were listening to.'"

Dallas Police Officer Billy Joe "B.J" Martin said that according to his fellow motorcycle cops "who were escorting [the Vice-Presidential car] he [LBJ] started ducking down in the car a good 30 or 40 seconds before the first shots were fired..."  He said, in reflection upon the moments before the shooting, "our new president is either one jumpy son of a bitch or he knows something he's not telling about the Kennedy thing."
